Vega XLL

The Vega XLL is a hard slick tyre, mainly used for prokart endurance racing. It is a very durable tire with consistent performance over long distances.

The XLL side wall markings are usually orange. It used to be the mandatory tire for the Dutch National prokart endurance championship "Kings of Karting", paired with the Vega DK wet tire, up until (and including) the 2004 season. For 2005, a move to the Maxxis HG1 was made, not to the amusement of a company that acted as Vega importer for The Netherlands, but also owned a number of the circuits where the championship was held. The championship was banned from using the Berghem circuit during the 2005 season as a result.
One characteristic of the XLL was a very stiff sidewall and round shape of the road contact surface. This was considerably different from the soft sidewalls and flat contact patch of the Maxxis HG1 that succeeded it, which required setup adjustments for many teams.
