• A woodruff key is used on certain rotating shafts to locate a component in position so they both spin at the same speed.
• Typical uses in 100cc engine are, locating the Engine Sprocket, locating the Rotary Valve drive nut, locating the Ignition Rotor to the crankshaft. These come in various sizes and tend to be defined by their height & width, they come in both metric & imperial sizes.
