Vortex VL/C W Engine

The Vortex VL/C W is a water cooled 100cc two stroke reed valve engine that was used in the Inter Continental A (ICA) class from 2001 onwards. Based on its crankcase design it is probably a water cooled version of the VL98 ICA engine. Possibly it was only homologated after water cooling became allowed in CIK 100cc classes after the turn of the century. It was superseded by the RVA model in 2004.

The VL/B W model of the same homologation period looks very similar, but the VL/C W can be recognized by the shape of the crankcase. Its cooling fins resemble the VL98 air cooled crank case, while the VL/B W has a similar crankcase design to the VL95.
